Lukas, a young transman in the final stages of transitioning, is set to begin the year of social service Germany requires of everyone. But a technicality lands Lukas in the girl's dorm where he doesn't quite fit in. Complicating things further is his growing attraction to the hyper-masculine Fabio, the crushes of the girls who don't know the truth --- and a surprise birthday visit by his family.
Resonating with great characters and a charismatic cast, the film tells its tale with terrific camerawork. In German with English subtitles. |
