   Trailer

Through stunning news footage and eloquent and articulate interviews, this 2009 documentary explores the strange duality that occurred for the GLBT community at the 2009 election: Barack Obama's stunning victory --- and the passing of Proposition 8 in California.

The film starts on May 16th, 2009 with Mayor Gavin Newsom on the steps of San Francisco City Hall giving a stirring and uplifting speech celebrating the fact that the California Supreme Court had just made same-sex marriage legal. The movie continues the story through the election right up to the California Court's ruling that Proposition 8 is constitutional. Witness first hand the tens of thousands of people throughout the state who took to the streets in massive protests for the days and weeks that followed the election --- and the unsurprised disappointed at the court's ruling.

Celebrities like Liza Minelli, Jane Lynch, George Takai, Margaret Cho, Cyndi Lauper, Eric McCormack and Loni Anderson, among many others, appear.
